Hi, I’m Zhaowei (James) Wang (Chinese: 王昭为). I’m currently a visiting scholar at EdinburghNLP, working with Mark Steedman. I’m pursuing my PhD in the Department of CSE at HKUST, supervised by Yangqiu Song. I received my MPhil degree from the Department of CSE at HKUST in August 2023.

My current research interests mainly focus on the long-context ability of MLLMs, as well as on the long-term memory of MLLMs, which is a highly relevant application of long-context understanding. Prior to the advent of LLMs, I worked on event understanding, such as discourse relation and event abstraction.

I am always open to new collaborations. Please feel free to reach out via email.
